A bar in London, UK has taken connectivity a step further by introducing urine-controlled video games at the Men’s urinals. Users aim at infrared sensors in the urinal to control what’s happening on the LCD screen mounted above the urinal.

The game features advertisements which play before and after the game which have generated a 40 to 50 percent rise in sales of certain products.

Captive Media, the company behind the video game, claims the trial of the game has been a success.

According to the Cambridge Network, Captive Media will roll-out the product across selected bars from early 2012.

Using a MAC and need to Share drives with a PC ?

Disk Utility has you covered.

To simply create a drive you can read and write to on a MAC and PC, back up any data already on the drive, then open Disk Utility in Applications > Utilities. Select the drive in the sidebar and click the Erase tab. In the Format pull-down menu, choose MS-DOS (FAT) if the drive is under 32GB, or ExFAT if the drive is larger.

Name the drive something clever, then click the Erase button to apply the new format. Don’t forget that Windows won’t recognize files larger than 4GB on the drive – a limitation not shared with NTFS-formatted volumes.

Introducing the transparent tablet computer – because the iPad is so yesterday :)

The technology is called Flexible AMOLED (active-matrix organic light-emitting diode). Flexible displays will be available sometime this year according to the Japanese manufacturer, Samsung.

Swarmanoid is a heterogeneous robot swarm in which different groups of robots have different capabilities: some robots are specialized in manipulating objects and climbing, some in moving on the ground and transporting objects, and some in flying and observing the environment from above.

Engineers have done some amazing things with robots lately, from mini-helicopters that can play ping pong to digital butlers that grab you a beer from the fridge. So the mundane task of library work might not seem too exciting, but it makes for an award-winning video :cool:

The robots communicate by flashing their LED lights and using infrared sensors to gauge distance.

There’s been a lot of speculation recently about what a future Apple TV might look like. Not nearly enough of this analysis talk about AirPlay. The combination of Airplay and an iOS 5 device, especially the iPad, looks like the clear winner in the home entertainment space.

The new AirPlay Mirroring feature in iOS 5 doesn’t get talked about much, but it’s the key to making this work. See the demo video of AirPlay Mirroring below, should you still need convincing :)

And this from a beta of iOS 5; now finally released to the public just a week or two ago :cool:

AirPlay Mirroring with the current incarnation of the Apple TV is admittedly underwhelming, because of the hassle of making it work! You need to find the TV remote, switch to the Apple TV input, find the Apple TV remote, wake up the Apple TV, then go back to your iOS 5 device and turn on AirPlay. Aaargh! Apple has to make AirPlay work effortlessly, and to do that, they need more than a set-top box. They need to control the whole TV.

If you’re an iOS developer, we highly recommend you start investing your time in AirPlay… right now!

A real Apple TV will truly be, we can almost guarantee it, especially as the late Steve Jobs was quoted, before his death, saying, “I finally cracked it“, referring to a future Apple entertainment product offering :cool:
