Rock ‘N’ Roll Allstars

One of our clients, Glenn Hughes, has joined a recently announced, 11-piece supergroup, Rock ‘N’ Roll Allstars, comprised of Gene Simmons of KISS, Joe Elliott of Def Leppard and many others. They will tour South and Central America this Spring.

Joining Hughes, Simmons and Elliott in the massive band will be Matt Sorum, Duff McKagan and Gilby Clarke (Guns N Roses), Steve Stevens (Billy Idol), Sebastian Bach (Skid Row), Ed Roland (Collective Soul), Mike Inez (Alice In Chains) and Billy Duffy (The Cult).

The project was the brainchild of Matt Sorum and promoter Gabe Reed.

“We thought it would be a really great idea to put together a band of some of our favorite musicians from the history of rock. I think it’s going to be exciting to go see the hits of Kiss, Guns N’ Roses, Def Leppard, Billy Idol, The Cult and Alice In Chains. That’s where the vibe came from.”

The tour will begin April 19th in Asuncion, Paraguay and play mostly in capital cities throughout South and Central America. The last stop on the tour will be May 6th in Caracas, Venezuela.

Glenn Hughes Publishes Autobiography

One of our clients, Glenn Hughes, published his long awaited Autobiography today, “From Deep Purple To Black Country Communion“.

This new Paperback edition, follows on from the limited edition hardcover versions made available earlier this year, “Deep Purple & Beyond: Scenes from the Life of a Rock Star“.

The new Paperback includes material about the rock and roll lifestyle, and recovery from addiction.

Co-written by acclaimed and experienced rock writer, Joel McIver, with a forward by Lars Ulrich, acclaimed drummer and musician from the rock band, Metallica.

Vocalist, bassist and songwriter Glenn Hughes is a living, breathing personification of British rock, and the arc of his career and attendant lifestyle make for a compelling story. Starting with the Midlands beat combo Finders Keepers in the 1960s, he formed acclaimed funk-rock band Trapeze in the early 70s before joining Deep Purple at their commercial peak. Flying the world in Starship 1, the band’s own Boeing jet, Hughes enthusiastically embraced the rock superstar’s lifestyle while playing on three Purple albums, including the classic Burn. When the band split in 1976 Hughes embarked on a breakneck run of solo albums, collaborations and even a brief, chaotic spell fronting Black Sabbath. All of this was accompanied by cocaine psychosis, crack addiction and other excesses, before Hughes survived a clean-up-or-die crisis, and embarked on a reinvigorated solo career enriched by a survivor’s wisdom. In his autobiography, Hughes talks us through this whirlwind of a life with unflinching honesty and good humour, taking us right up to date with his triumphant re-emergence in current supergroup Black Country Communion.
